In the absence of a bridge we crossed the river with a ferry.

Enormous potholes en route to Livingstone

We said goodbye to the rangers of Lower Zambezi National Park to leave for Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park close to Livingstone. We travelled on some of the worst roads encountered yet. The day's journey covered a distance of 581km and all went smoothly until we were halted for about 40 minutes at a police roadblock. However, we tried to make the most of the situation and enjoyed lunch until the issue was resolved.

The potholes on the national roads here are unbelievable. At times the entire convoy has to swerve across the road in slalom style to avoid hitting the potholes. Unfortunately, it is impossible to avoid them all, but the Toyotas and Goodyear Tyres handled them with ease.

We will stay at the National Park for three days, meeting with different rangers from different parks as well as see the stunning Victoria Falls. More details in the next few days.
