Interview with Marius Fuls, Reserve Manager for Exxaro Wildlife Division

6000 kilometres of African Bush and still going strong
3 weeks of ice cold drinks! Thanks National Luna!
Preparing for afternoon coffee
Enjoying the final hours of sunlight
Most people were awake this morning around 02:00 when a honey badger dragged one of our trash bags through the camp making a bit of a noise! The night before we had elephants and buffaloes visiting us, with the calls of lions and hyenas in the background.
We left at 06:00. It's amazing that we always leave on time. We only need 90 minutes to pack up everything and that is at a fairly leisurely pace.
The road we travelled today was mostly in sand, and some tracks were well worn, making it very bumpy! But what a small price to pay to see a spectacular sunrise, stunning scenery and lots of game.
We are currently camping just outside the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta, right on the river. While putting up camp, the hippos very nonchalantly swam past us, with everyone speculating which tent would be in the path of the hippos!
Tomorrow we will meet with students and park officials again and hopefully fit in a flight over the delta.
